It is not the same steel as vg 10. I have yet to find a vid with both being compared side by side so here it is. But i have had good luck with fallkniven s vg 10 laminate blades. Those laminated blades are just about bomb proof the f1 is nice the h1 is even nicer and several folks ptwood on.
